"TOM'S SKETCH BOX"

10"x12.5" painted on a real sketch box.
Mixed Media
$380.00

This was inspired by the "Northern River" painting and of course Tom.  Perhaps just coming in from a sketch or looking for where he might set up for one.
"JW Locking"

18"X24" Original Collage/Acrylic
on Wood Panel
(Prints Available)

This is a portrait of my Grandfather who was a great tinker/inventer/business man.  He also had a passion for public speaking so its a portrait of many aspects of his life.
"MOM"

18"X24" Acrylic/Collage

This was of course a labour of love and it sits proudly above Mom's couch.  She was having a good day at someone's shower I believe (maybe mine).  Her Sister Jeanne took a photo which this painting is based from.

Christmas Day!

Christmas Card Photo Shoot

Starting to cloud up, I think it will snow for Christmas.
I wish you all a wonderful Christmas and a Peaceful and Healthy
New Year.  I hope to continue my 30 min walk a day and I encourage everyone to try it.  I would like to thank Sue Lewis for  inspiring me and  hooked me on to this .  She does a daily blog at walk30.blogspot.com.

Walk on Strong Sue & Dave!

Day 1
Christmas Card Photo Shoot

The sun came out to make this walk much more of  a pleasure.  A stiff south wind is keeping our big white stuff away.  But it will be nice to travel to Moms Christmas Day.  Hope your all having a Peaceful Christmas Eve and tucked  in your beds for a long winters nap.

day 2

Christmas photo Card Shoo

So wonderful to wake up to the snow.  Rode today at the stables
so I only walked for about 20mins today.  It felt good, as I piled into the Christmas goodies.
Always lovely to see the cards coming in the box!
As my friend Sue says walk on strong!

day 3

Christmas Card Photo Shoot

"Winter Solstice Sunrise"
this was a great site after all of yesterdays rain even
though its behind a vale of thin cloud.  I walked down our ridge
road and felt so good I walked further then my 30 min walk.
Saw some crows and starlings on top of the hill welcoming the sun back.

DAY4

Christmas Card Shoot

"consumerism on steriods"
Took a walk with Uwe in the mall, which
is rare for us, but its so dull and damp out we
needed the colour!

day 6

shopping at the swamp trail decor store.

DAY 7

This was on the first day of my
shoot, sorry about it being out of order.  It was
a chilly day on the swamp trail, but as always
a delight.  Garrit is missed on my walks still, but am
looking forward to our new pup in January.

Day 5

This is fun picking a new image for 7 days on
Walk 30(mins) Sue inspired me to do.
This one is a photo gone ary, but I like it.
The intention was to capture our new flood light installed in our bell tower of our church.

JAZZ II

(2)36"X60" Acrylic/Collage on Canvas

This was my first huge piece of work.  It took
me a year and half (a lot of that time
was hiding it away cause I wasn't thinking
it was much of anything).   But I am so glad when I pulled it
out and started it again and would work away for a few months being helped along by intuition.

The friends that bought this piece, threw a Christmas get together and the painting was kind of one of the guests in the room as it is quite a big painting.  I felt a little shy with the attention but at the same time proud that I did the work.  The favourable response to the piece was worth the big leap.  This piece was inspired by the Journey of Louis Armstrong.
